KIEV - 5 February 2010. The President of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) of Ukraine Sergei Konnov called for support of the International Bar Association (IBA) appeal for the reconstruction of the judiciary of Haiti - a country that suffered as a result of the devastating earthquake.

International Bar Association appealed to the international legal community to provide all possible assistance in the reconstruction of legal institutions of Haiti. Presently the IBA human rights fund collects donations for this purpose from all over the world. The Ukrainian Bar Association, being the IBA member stands ready to support its initiative.

The President of the Ukrainian Bar Association Sergey Konnov has already made his own contribution to the IBA Human Rights Institute Charitable Trust in the amount of 100 pounds (1280 USD).

The President of the Ukrainian Bar Association appealed to all UBA members and Ukrainian lawyers to support the IBA initiative and provide any possible assistance to our foreign colleagues in the reconstruction of the legal institutions destroyed by the natural disaster.
