KIEV - 30 October 2009. The Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) held its III Annual Forum on Corporate Law at Hyatt Regency Kiev.
UBA forum on corporate law is an annual major and influential event, where legal practitioners, scholars, judges, representatives of government and business discuss issues of corporate law, its practical use and shape their proposals for improving corporate legislation of Ukraine.
The UBA Board Member Oleg Makarov opened the Forum. Also, the audience heard the welcoming word from the President of American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC) Jorge Zukoski, who told about the ACC role in the preparation of the Law of Ukraine "On Joint Stock Companies" and emphasized the importance of cooperation between his organization and the UBA.
The Head of the Organizational Committee of ІІІ Annual Forum on Corporate Law Sergei Tyurin introduced the topics, chosen to discuss among the leading professionals of corporate law. Thus, this year the Organizational Committee identified as the most burning the following topics: the first six month of the Law of Ukraine On Joint Stock Companies in action, functioning of the Unified State Registry and peculiarities of legal entities termination, corporate disputes, insolvency and business management in the stage of bankruptcy.
The peculiarities of this year's Forum became a charity exhibition of children's artwork, which was supported by the International Charity Organization Poglyad together with the international NGO The Territory of Childhood, and the exhibition-presentation of the art project of the groundbreaking Ukrainian artist Roman Zhuk The Robbers, supported by Mironova Art Gallery.
During the Forum the UBA partner Delta Airlines draw a lottery among the audience. A ticket from Europe to any USA city was won by a guest from Russia, partner of «PRINCIPIUM» Law Group Dmitriy Tugushy.
Upon the Forum completing the participants gathered together at the city karaoke club LaLafa, where Law Lab firm draw a lottery. The partner of Vaschenko, Bugai & Partners Denis Bugai became a happy winner of a modern karaoke system.
