KHARKOV - 9-11 June 2010. The Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) held VII Annual Legal Conference - the major event of the year, which gathers lawyers from all around the country.

The tree-day program of the Conference included working sessions and round tables, meetings of the UBA managing bodies, several social events and receptions as well as exhibition of legal press and books.

The Conference was officially opened at the plenary session held 10 June 2010 in the premises of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, headquartered in Kharkov. The plenary session was attended by local authorities and scientists who greeted the participants and passed welcoming words from the city major and governor of Kharkov region.

Due to the host organizers the Conference participants had a unique opportunity to visit main legal places of interest, as Kharkov is considered to be a legal capital of the country.

During the Conference the UBA Board gathered to discuss the current issues of the organization management, update by-laws and choose the cities where the future annual conferences will be held.

The Legal Assembly - the highest management body of the Association approved the annual report of the organization, presented by the UBA President Sergei Konnov and the financial audit report, delivered by the Audit Committee Chairman Volodymyr Vaschenko.

The working part of the Conference was filled with different committee meetings and round tables. Thus, during three days thirteen working sessions were held together with the presentation of the American Law School opening in Ukraine.

During the Conference two evening receptions joined together lawyers and guests for leisure and networking. The UBA division in Kharkov region impressed lawyers with the newly-reconstructed stadium “Metallist”, finished in the course of preparation for Euro-2012 Championship. The next day the reception in the honor of the UBA President gathered conference participants for the vine and brie session in jazz music accompaniment.

Next year VIII UBA Annual Legal Conference will be held in Odessa - another wonderful city and place of legal interest.
